We would like to take you on virtual tour of our facility.. Let's start with the different types of equipment we use to capture the best sound possible.

FIRST the HEART of the studio: The DELTA 1010 by M-AUDIO.. This is absolutely the finest device made to get your sound into our computers.. VERY clean..

Recognized around the world as the top choice in host-based PCI digital audio solutions, the rack-mount Delta 1010 is designed to handle the needs of the most demanding project and professional studios. Superb engineering and ultra-high quality converters deliver fidelity surpassing systems that cost many times more. Multiple inputs accommodate recording numerous tracks simultaneously, including zero-latency monitoring for seamless overdubs. Multiple outs route individual tracks or soft synth/sampler timbres to a mixing console, or directly drive up to 7.1 surround sound systems. The analog outs also remain live for monitoring while mixing or transferring digital signals via S/PDIF. MIDI I/O rounds out everything you need to take advantage of today’s music software. Combine several 1010s for as much I/O as you need.

“None can match its audio specification… the 1010 is the best sounding 8-in/8-out soundcard I’ve reviewed to date.” — Sound on Sound

It's also very important what comes BEFORE the Delta.. we use quite a few different types of pre-amps. Some tube types, etc. to make sure we have that nice "warm" feeling. Here's one of our favorite little pre-amps:

Based on the M-Audio preamp technology that won Pro Audio Review’s highest accolades, the DMP3’s amazing 20Hz to 100kHz frequency response makes it ideal for today’s 96k recording work. You also get exceptional dynamic range to capture all the nuances of your music—not to mention an unbelievable 66dB of gain. And the classic VU meters are just one indication of the soul you’ll find in the DMP3’s sound. Whether you use it live or in the studio, the DMP3 2-channel microphone/instrument preamp is a piece of gear destined to be integral in defining your sound.

“Extremley Transparent.” — Jazz Times

“One of the quietest preamps available anywhere, regardless of price. For comparison’s sake, this tiny difference [between original source and mic pre output] is far less than the degradation I’ve heard in the most expensive world-class A/D converters.” — Pro Audio Review

The most acoustically transparent console in its class with signal-routing flexibility and unprecedented audio quality.

The Behringer Eurodesk MX9000 Mixing Console - Behringer's largest console - features 24 fully inline channels. Each has an extensive MIC/LINE and a MIX B/TAPE RETURN path. The MIC/LINE path offers balanced mic and line inputs, an invisible mic preamp, pad, inserts, and a 4-band EQ with 2 semi-parametric mid-frequency bands, 15dB of boost/attenuation plus low-cut filter. 6 aux sends are available (pre/post switchable in pairs), plus a pan pot, solo and mute functions, full routing options, and 100mm faders. The MIX B/tape return path features a dedicated 2-band shelving EQ, pan and level controls, mute function, and access to aux sends 3 to 6.

The master section offers extensive routing and monitoring options plus control of the 8 group buses and stereo main bus. The precise LED meters can display A or B channel paths and various buses. All crucial inputs and outputs are balanced and the entire console is based on renowned ULN circuitry for crystal-clear, noise-free audio and musical sound. The external rackmountable power supply unit ensures ample headroom and prevents interference.

Microphones, Microphones, Microphones!! It's just not a studio without a bunch of mics and we have all kinds and brands of them. AKG, SHURE, AUDIX and so on..

If the Delta 1010 is the heart of the studio then SONAR 5 software is the BRAINS.. I have used many different software packages in my years as an engineer but NONE beats Sonar for clarity, ease of use and just out and out time saving capibilites.. After all, we're making music, not learning about rocket fuel formulas... SONAR RULES!!
